Hi im gonna give my 360(samsung drive) to some guy so he will flash it for me. If i update to the new xbox experience on november 19 will the firmware (1.4 Iextreme) will be earased and does that mean i have to reflash it? And also if i dont flash it now and wait untill november 19 to update will there be a chance that M$ have blocked flashing somehow?

no... there's no risk of the new update "flashing" your DVD drive... its not even possible...

the problem moreso has to do with detection ... and will the new update bring ways for them to determine your xbox is hacked and subsequently get you banned from xbox live..

Actually the earlier poster who says "no way can updates need your drive reflashing" is wrong... It depends on the firmware and dash version. Overlord bricked (E66) a lot of xtreme 1.x flashed boxes... Try it and see.. but back up your firmware first.

well, I don't know. I will be very surprised if the update flashes your dvd drive.

I think in the case mentioned above it might have been something wrong in the kernel, I don't see how it could be flashed with an update.

I guess it COULD be possible, but I think highly unlikely
