Dirty Disc Error On Backup

I was finally sucessful with getting a backup to play correctly. Then I tired burning another game and it boots up fine, but about 20 seconds after I get to the main menu, I get a dirty disc error. I can even get to the game's opening cut-scene if I fly through the main menu. But after a few seconds I still get the error. The game starts up too smoothly for it to be a bad burn. Or should I try burning it at a faster write speed (I read all over these forums that 2.4X was the best, but all I've ever had luck with was 4X). Should I try 6X? I'm using 8X Verbatims from singapore and 8X Memorex. And could this be a patch or SS sector problem?
Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

burning slower is always better... i burn at 2.4

you can verify the backup with ABGX gui... but really its prob just easier to get a different backup of the game...
