I am ready to order and I am on a tight budget but want to be able to run Unreal 3 and hopefully maybe the next unreal release when it happens (we'll see about that)

Here is what I am considering... MSI N9400GT-MD256

MSI card link

I would appreciate all the input I can get and ASAP

Personally I am using this Video card right now and I am happy with it and it's great. I'm a big fan of ATI. They jst do a great job with there cards.

This link takes you to the home page of the Video card I'm using now.

http://ati.amd.com/products/RadeonX1650/index.html

This brand is HIS but the chipset is ATI and GPU is Radeon X1650 like I have.

Personally, just go with ATI. There reliable and helpful and are always up-to-date. And they offer great extras also. And they have more custom features for Card softwares. Example, Overclocking, Overheat-protection, etc. Enjoy :)

The 9400GT is a relatively slow card, as is the X1650. Right now, there's no reason to consider anything less than this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127383
Best picture quality and performance for the price (the same as the original Geforce 8800s)

This is one I had seriously considered, thankyou for the push.

This should run unreal 3 without problems. Don't you think?

Yes, I had the older and similar performing HD3870, which ran UT3 fine even on a 30" monitor.

I doubt it, the Crosshair is quite old. If you're not confident you can always track down an older card like an 8800GT.

Oh, they'll work, but how well they'll work I'm not sure, depends if it's actually a PCIe 2.0 slot.

nVidia seems to be having a lot of problems with their cards lately. After all the faulty laptop cards, and now my PS3's RSX is failing I doubt I'll touch Nvidia for quite a few years. Console gaming cheaper than PC my ass... Perhaps Sony will help me out somehow when I give them a call.

Intel has a problem? You presumably mean nvidia
And yes, nvidia's hardware QC is pretty dire for mobile chips, I don't know much about the ones used in the PS3, but almost all nvidia mobile graphics chips fail within 2 years.

Yeah nVidia, I was just reading about i7's in another tab. You know how one 5 letter word = a different 5 letter word :S. That really pissed me off though. That's what I deserve for spending 550$ on the thing at launch. I'm going to try to get them to fix it for free out of warranty but I doubt they'll help. 200$ for repairs means I'll have spent 750$ on the console alone. There is no way something that expensive should only last two years.
