Before upgrading to 5.00m33, my fat psp-1000 is able to detect all my 200+ mp3 from my memory card, including a few of chinese songs, after upgrading, it can only detect 80+.

Is there anyway to fix this problem?

PSP (Jap)-> 1.5 -> 3.03OE-A -> 3.03OE-C -> 3.40OE-A -> 3.51m33-4 -> 3.71m33-4

You might have to wait for it to load, as my mate had a psp with over firmware 5.xx, which he had to wait for the rest of the mp3's to load up. Are you sure you are putting all of the mp3's in the right folder.

Thanks for helping...
i solved the problem by,

i am putting the mp3 into subfolder.

root:/mp3/mysong/xxx.mp3

i tried to remove the subfolder and now 90% of my mp3 appears.

I assumed PSP 5.0xm33 cannot read subfolder well for mp3.

thats good, which i was thinking more of that it could be about the folders situation, which i guess thats another problem on firmware 5.xx, if you can't read mp3's in another folder. My psp is on 3.90 m33-3, which i have not had any problems at all, so thats why i havent't upgraded at all. The only time i will upgrade really is when something like where you can download GPS files for satnav nd if i had to upgrade to make it work, i think that would be the best program ever.

likely to be one of the Chinese songs causing the problem as for some reason the psp has a problem loading mp3's with odd file names.

I had a few Japanese song (that through windows caused the file name to be not to be the japanese name but rather muddled symbols) and they didnt load but when i changed the file name to 1.mp3, 2.mp3 .... they all seemed to work.

And because it reads the song name off the id tag it means that the proper song name will come up

that should sort it hopefully
