well, i've tried getting an answer to this by searching for the past couple of days, but since i'm new at it, i really don't know anything else to do other than ask you.

i've got an svcd that i'd like to put on to a dvd-rw. i was wondering if there is anyway that i can just put it on the rw some how with out have to go convert it to a dvd.

also, if there isn't a way to do it, or there is and it doesn't work for me, then what would be the best, and quickest way to convert the svcd over to a dvd format and then burn it onto a dvd-rw.

also, i've got burning programs like the lastest version of nero, recordnow max, dj, and blindwrite i believe with an pioneer dvr-ao6 burner.

any help would be appreciated. i don't mind burning them to regular discs, but i'm too the point of just want to watch them, keep them for a lil' bit, and then burn over it. i've got a bunch of movies that i'll never watch again. i need to get me some more cd-rw's that burn faster than 4x. it takes me 20 minutes to do one disc.

Yes you can Put SVCD Files on to DVD-R...But you MUST Change the audio sample Rate to 48000HZ and use a DVD authoring Program that supports SVCD on DVD Like "DVD-Lab"...If your SVCD Movie is in 2 Or More Parts I would Join them into One Big File, then Demux the file into a seperate audio and Video File and then re-sample the Audio to 48000HZ then use "DVD Lab" to Create the DVD Out of the Files...You Should be able to Put 2 or 3 Full SVCD Movies on each DVD-R..I backed up my whole 400+ Movie SVCD Collection to DVD this way and they all worked Perfectly.....Cheers

You can use TMPGEnc to Demux the audio and Join the Files and to Resample the audio to 48000hz, But it is Better to use a Good Mpeg editor Like Mpeg2VCR to Join Mpeg files because if you use TMPGEnc to Join them you Might get Sync Problems....And yes you Can Put VCD"s on DVD the same way..SVCD"s on DVD aren"t actually a Standard But more DVD Players will Play them were VCD"s on DVD are a Part of the DVD Standard so they should play on all DVD Players....

thanks minion,

i used the programs you said to use and everything worked fine on the second try. kinda of flucked it up the first time.

i'll try the mpeg2vcr in the future, but i didn't seem to have any sync problems on this one.
