I purchased a Solderless D2Pro ModChip from www.modsupplier.com for my Wii and followed instructions on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4p6-z-manc ).

I believe that I installed the ModChip properly, when I turn the Wii on, the Blue and Red lights flash on the ModChip. When I insert my purchased games they work fine.

However, the two games that I have downloaded won't play. I downloaded .iso files and burned them to DVD+R of Guitar Hero Aerosmith (PAL), Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (NTCS).

When I insert the games into the Wii it says Unable to read the disc. Aside from installing the ModChip as it's described in YouTube, is there anything I need to do to make the ModChip work?

If it plays my purchased games does that absolutely mean that the ModChip was installed correctly?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

be careful when you play games from other regions if they contain an update, they can brick your wii

Just because it plays original disc doesn't mean it is installed properly.

There are a few possible things that may be causing the issue.

1) Modchip is bad

2) WiiClip is bad

3) Wrong version of D2Pro is used (makes sure you have the proper D2Pro version that corresponds to your Wii drive chipset D2B/D2C/D2C2/D2E).

4) D2Pro is not properly soldered to WiiClip.

5) WiiClip is not properly seated on drive chipset.

6) Media you are using is not compatible with your Wii system (make sure you have high quality media Verbatim/Tayio Yuden/Ridata preferably DVD-R if it is DVD+R try booktyping the media to DVD-ROM if your burner supports booktyping).

And to add to what larrylje said, the discs could be trucha signed and may not work with FW 3.3 or higher. Do you have the homebrew channels installed or GeckoOs? if so try loading the games through GeckoOS.
