just wondering if anyone can help me out with this. i looked at different thermal pastes but i need to make sure i get one that will work really well. the one i currently use is the one that came with the x clamp fix:

http://cgi.ebay.com/XBOX-360-Repair-Kit-...S:B:SRCH:US:101

but i keep its not working that well. i had to reapply it twice already in the past 2 weeks and i did the fix a couple months ago.

any help will be appreciate...

if you could show me some through ebay.com, it will be a little easier for me to purchase it.

thanks.

I'm sure 99% will agree that Artic Silver is the best. Radio Shack sells it if you happen to have one by and don't want to wait for it to come in the mail.

I got some ARCTIC SILVER 5 thru an EBAY sale here in Australia, gotta say, I opened my 'box up 3 times in a week to fix it.
I have a theory that it has to do with the mod of taking off the X-CLAMP and using machine screws instead. I beleive tightening each screw down individually creates an uneven contact between the heatsinks and the CPU/GPU. I also found using the machine screws, if I tightened them down too much it was worse, so once I over-heated the 'box to get the ARCTIC SILVER going, I just gave each screw a slight tweek then left it all sit for a few hours to set. No problems so far.
I must also add that I have added an internal fan sold thru LUDO GAMING (XCM fan) and a bank of 3 fans spliced into the OE fan power sucking in cold air to the 'box. Dunno what specific temp it was running at before, but I'm willing to bet my left nut it's running cooler now......

my vote goes for artic silver 5. independent tests show it is the best but not by far. most of the ones with a high silver count all work about the same. but i will add the problem you are having is not in the thermal paste. the gpu needs to be reflowed professionally. reflowing is more a permanent fix if done properly. I offer that service so if you are interested please pm me.
