new drive not working to burn image for backups...did i buy wrong?

I bought this off of ebay

so i was able to create an image just fine using xbox backup creator but when i put one of my verbatim dvd+r dl disks in the drive to write the image to it, it doesnt even read that there is a disk in there. very confused? do i need to buy another seperate drive to burn the image?

Kreon drives are specific for RIPPING xbox 360 games, not for burning and yes you need a different drive, a drive that can write DVD-DL.
I understand that this is confuseing but in order for it to read xbox games it cant write as well, not sure the exact reason why.

ya what i was afraid of. sucks cause i live in utah and there isnt many options outside walmart and best buy and i dont want to have to wait till next week to start this :)

whats wrong with best buy i'm sure they have DL burners...
you don't need some special DL burner to burn the disks... if it can handle double layer it should be fine...

Ya i just called them and wanted 80+ bucks for one...:'(
so just bought one off ebay for 30 with shipping but wont be here for 4-5 days :'(

So update on this...
got the drive i bought off of ebay yesterday and guy sent me the wrong damn drive. so i cant use it, i sent him email about it buy i have never had this problem with ebay. so my question is...
Since i just want my money back and i have no problem sending him back the drive he sent me, but i dont want to be out any money to pay for shipping to ship it back to him. He hasnt replyed to email i sent him but does he have to cover shipping on his mistake or am i going to have to to get my money back?

i dont think he even needs to send you your money back ck you bought the burner and it works just not what you want it for. i wouldnt send you the money back next time go to best buy quit being so cheap

i only buy junk off ebay if its the absolute last resort...
you coulda bought a brand new one off newegg for $25 or $30 ... and they are a 100% legit reputable company and wouldn't have screwed up your order.... . . .. .
you should only use ebay if whatever your looking for isn't available ANYWHERE else . .. .

I have a Sony DRX-S70U DVD-RW drive, bought at walmart, granted it was about $100, it works fine when used in conjunction with DVDInfoPro

Pay to ship your drive back, get a refund, and buy from newegg.
