Im trying to put a CFW on my PSP fat. and when i release the mouse button to drop the files into the proper folder i get an error labeled as an I/O error. im guessing it is an input/output error. how do i get rid of it? someone hacked my network and wiped my pc clean lucky i had everything backed up. and even after that i still got it. my pc is a Dell D600. and while im at it what is the CFW i can get the best of both the homebrew world and ISO game play?

CFW = Custom Firmware
It's what allows you to install homebrew and run emulators and what not on your PSP.

First thing I'd do is make a backup of your mem card if you have anything on it such as saved games. Hook your PSP up to your pc, make a "psp backup" folder on your desktop, then copy everything from your memory stick into the new folder.
Now disconnect from your pc and format the memory stick on your psp (Settings menu > system settings > format memory stick).

After formatting it, hook it back up and see if you still have the I/O problem. If you don't have the problem anymore, I'd copy back your saved games or pictures or whatever you need. (Note that saved game files should be under ms0:\PSP\SAVEDATA folder.)

If yes, try a different USB cable to eliminate the possibility of it being your problem.

Last thing to try is seeing if you get this I/O error when you hook your PSP up to a different computer. Try that out. If you do get the error from another computer it's your PSP/MemCard. If you don't get the error then it's your PC (which is what I'm banking on).

You know I give you the mad, phat, superfly, stupid-dope, dumb-ass, retarded, bomb-sh*t props!
What else do you want from me!?!

Dark_Alex...mad love and thanks for giving this community so much and asking for so little.
