I am having trouble converting avi and etc. to burn them so my dvd player will play them. I used roxio and got it to burn the movies and I was able to play them in my dvd player but I got crackling and digital freezes. Now I am using nero 6 and I am so lost on how to use it. There are different things you can choose from.

NeroVision Express (in Nero 6) will do it , but the main question is really what is the AVI file (?)
For instance , is it a DVD-Rip ..?

If using TMPGEnc Plus to make avi to mpeg2 , you then need to use TMPGEnc DVD Author to make mpeg2 to vob !

But as I stated earlier NeroVision Express 2 will do what you want if you want an easier way of doing it.
TMPGEnc is a better encoder though ;)

It isn't the burner , it will probably be either media and/or the process used.
Roxio is not a much loved piece of software here in aD with users.

P.S. Have you done any DVD to DVD-R(+R) back ups , and if so what software did you use ?;-)
