Ok so I've read multiple guides, downloaded different files, and a whole lot of other crap about trying to run CSO files on my PSP. I can run PSX as is, I had my friend help mod my PSP and he pulled a pandora battery out and set me up but now I want to run .CSO files (i.e Rockman Dash 2 and other PSP games) but don't know what ALL I need to do :\ Google brought up multiple results with people using different files and this and that and I'm scared of breaking my poor 256mb stick lol. So ok here is my PSPs specs.

System Software: 3.80 M33-5 PSP Slim

I've been told to use DevHook .52 but when I read guides they tell me to use custom firmware 3.03 and I don't know how to set that up or what to do ;-; I'm just scared of FUBARing my PSP D:. So please help guys :x I think this is all the information needed but if I need to tell you anything else please just let me know <33.

The .cso/.iso files need to be PSP games (which I'm assuming they are). If they are, then connect your psp to the computer, open up the mem stick, and drop the files directly into your ISO folder. That's all there is to it...other then making sure you have CFW installed properly. Don't make folders for it or put it in psp/games or anything of the sort. Just drop the .cso directly into the ISO folder.

BTW, I'm currently using 5.00 M33-3 and haven't had a single issue with any PSP or PSX games. I'd suggest upgrading to this version as it does have a couple added features.

And just for clarification, if the files you're trying to put on your psp are PSX games (not really sure why they'd be in .cso format, but just saying...), you would need to convert them to eboot.pbp files using a program such as RS-GUI PopstationMD.

You can see a list of PSX to PSP converters on my post here:

Well I forgot to add that in the end I got some of my CSO files running via DevHook Ultimate Installer. I tried putting the .cso files into the ISO folder by them selves but they didn't show up until I installed DevHook onto my PSP. The only PSX game I played on my PSP so far was added by my friend, it was Final Fantasy VI, the 2 files in the FFVI folder were EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN so I don't know if thats how most PSX games will run or if I can run PSX ISO's too.

Listen. Devhook is NOT needed to run PSP games on CFW. All it does it emulate different versions of the sony firmware.

I've never once installed devhook on my psp and i've never had any problems playing PSP downloads.

The biggest thing I can see right now in difference of your PSP and mine is you're on 3.8. I strongly suggest getting 5.00 M33-3.

Also the only thing you need to do to get a psp game running on your system is
1)ensure it is in fact a psp game and
2)drop the game file into the ISO folder.

IF for some reason the game isn't registering, you have a bad iso/cso OR it's not a psp game. Hence me advising that you make sure you verify what type it is.

PSX games ripped from CD to hard drive are usually stored in .iso format (though there are many others, that's the most common). They don't come pre-converted as eboot.pbp files. That's something you have to do using a program. So if you're dropping a PSX .iso into that ISO folder it's not going to show up.

End story:Upgrade your CFW to 5.00 M33-3.
Re-rip your game (or re-download it, but we know no one ever does that b/c it's illegal...) and try again.
If it's a PSX game, properly convert it and place it in the appropriate location.
Here's a quick and dirty guide i whipped up today for another person on PSX to PSP game conversion.
