I was just at my friends house trying to teach him how to get his box modded, he has the same drive as me, the Hitachi. We get up to the part to use 360 Firmware Toolbox but We get an error when trying to run the program in Vista.
Off hand I dont remember what the error was. I think it said missing XXXXX.ocx file or something
Does someone now how to run Toolbox on Vista or does it have to be XP

I haven't used toolbox, but you can try right-clicking on the program, and select "Run As Administrator" and see if that gets it going.

There is N/P running it on Vista,I used it for hours yesturday.
Maybe try redownloading it or with the file thats messed up put it in your C/Windows/System32 folder.I have had this prob before.

what were the files you downloaded and how.
I did download the missing file it said was missing, and i put it in the system32 file but it still says its missing even when i reboot. I will try again and maybe try running it as admin.

you probably have to register that ocx file with windows

but i always stick to using xp to flash any hitachi,just to be on the safe side.

I had this yesterday whilst trying to use Firmware Toolbox 4.6.

Simply right click the icon and "Run As Administrator" - should run then with no problems.
