Hey guys,
What do you think are the odds of the homebrew community getting around this oct 23 update, that prevents the installation of .wads?
I dont really want to use a firmware downgrader (I couldnt really find one).
Should I just hold tight? or what do you think?
I currently have the homebrew channel, and foolishly got the 3.3u update.

I would say the odds are roughly 100%... Because it already happened... And was discussed in another thread you posted in 14 minutes before starting this one.

I guess you misunderstood me. I have seen both of these, and it looks rather confusing. Is there a good chance something similar to the .wad installer being able to work with the new 3.3u? I dont really want to mess with the firmware, as i'd probably brick my wii.

No, I think I understood perfectly. You asked if the homebrew community would find a way around the oct 23 update, and they did. You didnt specify that you were looking for a simpler way. I would say that the odds of that happening are only so-so, since there is already a fix its less likely that a homebrew programmer is going to spend their time working on another fix.

The patch to prevent the problem from occurring is very simple and covered here, http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wii_Shop_and_IOS51_installer
But if you've already run the update and are unwilling to take the steps to fix it then you just have to wait and hope.
