i used to do it with pso, with my gamecube.

i used to stem the gcm's to the cube, to play my backups, like mariokart dd , spongebob, zelda the wind waker,spawn, just name a few i own and got backed up.

i own every game i backup up!!

if your wii is modded you can play gamecube games burnt onto a normal DVD, it depends on what modchip you choice which depends on your wii's drive type

i dont know if its possible to stream games from an HDD though

Assuming the console has a modchip just burn the GC game to a standard DVD, pop it in and play. You can even burn multiple games to one disk if you boot it through GCOS.
