Help! I am required to update my system 2.82 to 3.95, What should I do?

I am a newbie in PSP and got it second hand. I bought a game and when I insert the umd to play the system post a message saying I need to update my version 2.82 to version 3.95 before I can play. What should I do???

1. do you have custom firmware?
2. If you do not have custom firmware but you want custom firmware then you need to down grade to firmware 1.5 so you can upgrade to a custom firmware.
3. after you have custom firmware you can upgrade to 5.00m33-3 (so you can play any game out right now)
4. in short do NOT upgrade if you want custom firmware.
5. but if you have custom firmware do not upgrade via umd.

no i dont have custom firmware what should i do to downgrade to 1.5? i am havin a psp 1002

If you dont want to go through all the trouble of that you can always buy a pandora battery it's the fastes way to hack a psp.
