I've been skimming through some of the stickied guides but I haven't really found a definitive list of what I'd need to burn and play 360 games, I'm just a little confused. First, what kind of dvd drive to I need to actually burn the games. And second, what do I have to do to mod my system? Do I need a chip or is that not required. If it isn't then what is (excluding anything I can download for free off the internet). Essentially what do I have to buy that wouldn't be free off the internet.
Obviously you didn't look at the stickies! Because there is a tutorial on what you need in the "READ SECOND" sticky! Gotta look more, then just read the title!
I checked that one. It tells me what I need for burning the discs but is vague on the console saying that I need a "flashed" one with iextreme firmware. Could somebody explain that? Is that just something I download off the internet. How do I get it on my Xbox?
Basically that means that your system has to be modded to play backups. You will need the iXtreme 1.4 firmware to install on the 360 drive. Though if your 360 is fairly new, then you won't be able to do that, because they aren't moddable (yet). Also, people are starting to get banned for having modded consoles, so now really wouldn't be the smartest time to mod, unless you want to get your console banned from Xbox Live. But, ya you will need to read up about the iXtreme Firmwares, and how to do that for your drive.
iXtreme 1.5 should be coming out soon, so I would just wait for that!
