Anyone jumping ship from COD4 to COD: World at War?? I was able to play the beta on the 360 and its basically COD4 with a WWII skin and "new perks". I just personally prefer to use modern guns rather than WII guns. The game is still fun I'll give it that but for me, its hard to make the leap when I basically own a game (COD4) that does exactly what World at War does and has to offer.

I just picked COD5 up earlier tonight and i love it. I loved COD4 but it got pretty boring after going 10 prestiges lol. The single player is also way better on COD5. Personally i love the change. I love WWII games unlike most people so this was a must buy for me.

Are there addons to the guns like in cod4, scopes etc?

And I heard that you actually get something for prestiging this time, can anyone confirm this?

Yes, there are add-ons. Plus, there are veichles to drive. Not sure about anything for Prestige, though.

yes there are add-ons for the guns.

marksman 1 - silencer
marksman 2 - red dot scope
marksman 3 - round drum

and as far as prestige, the only thing i can see that you unlock is create a classes 6-10

1st prestige - class 6
2nd prestige - class 7
4th prestige - class 8
7th prestige - class 9
10th prestige - class 10

Oh yeah, that's right. I did see the options to create a total of 10 classes. Forgot about that.

I am going to pick up my copy of CoD:WW today. I wouldn't say I'm jumping ship from CoD4. It'll just be a nice change. Basically, it's the same gameplay but it'll be new maps and different weapons. I'll switch back and fourth between the two. It would be nice to see IW release new maps for 4. It's been awhile.

In one for maps I played in the Beta there was a Tank. Will there be more than tanks in the game??

Roundhouse.

I believe there's a few different maps with different veichles. I've played a few matches now and the maps are pretty good. Had to stop so I can download Left4Dead demo.

Now that I've got some quality time in with it online, this games is just incredible. It is a step above cod4. Now I know that cod4 will be collecting dust, atleast until IW releases new maps.

The maps in cod ww are great. They're big and a good mixture of cod4 and cod3. There's pleanty of places to duck and cover (cod4), yet still lots of open area (cod3). And the tanks are back. People are saying the dogs are stupid, but that adds to the enjoyment. Your blood gets pumping when you're trying to cover your a$$ from getting shot and hearing barking all around you. Plus, at least you can defend yourself and teammates against the dogs. With the helicopter, there was no defense.

In cod4, there is a lot of "run n gunners", they'd just whip around a corner, guns blazing. But the way these maps are set up, you got to use a little tactic.

It's also nice to see the little extra gore. A leg blowing off here, and arm shot off there. Again, it just adds to the excitement.

I haven't even tried the story mode yet. I'm enjoying online. For me, online alone was worth the $60 for this game.

And yes, I know, no back to back posting. But 1- I obviously don't need to rank up my post count, and 2- I wanted to add to the thread, not just edit a past comment. So I do apologize, but felt it would be acceptable in this case.

No need to appologize Trick you did nothing wrong. Your posts had more than enough time between them, even then you are an aD regular and if you had to post again to make something clear it would not have been an issue (applies even for newbies if done correctly and not "spammed").

The fact that it's ww2 is shadowed by the great gameplay. But it's all good... to each their own.

So I broke down and traded for this game along with Gears 2. Guys at work were all getting so what the heck, at least I know a few guys that I can go online with. Anyway I finished the solo campaign which took no time at all. I was playing online tonight and I just noticed that the amount of people online was not as abundant as COD4. I mean I still got to play but the matches were 3 on 4 and all the lobbies I went to never filled up. The match always started with 3 to 4 slots left. Anyone else think this is odd for TDM? In COD4 as soon as someone even leaves a lobby there seem to be always someone waiting to get in. Is this because the game is new??
