Error Updating - FFFFFFFE

Whenever I try to update my PSP, I always get to 92% and it comes up with the error code FFFFFFFE. It does this on every firmware I've tried to update to, including OFW and CFW, but OFW loads once I take out the battery, since it won't turn off. Trying to update to CFW on the other hand is a problem. Once it freezes on the error, I remove the battery and turn on the PSP only to find that the screen won't turn on. I use Pandora + MMS to revert it back to 3.71 M33-2. I want to upgrade to be able to run Popsloader since one of my PSX games fails to load during gameplay occasionally. Is there something similar to an easy MMS installer to where it could install 5.00 M33-3 instead of 3.71 M33-2?
