Backup's strange behaviours

Hi, my 1st message =)
So, I got my x360 modded to play backups. What happens is that half the games I burn aren't recognized by the console.
For instance, the last 2 games I downloaded, Mirror's Edge and Dead Space... The first one plays flawlessly, the second gives me an error message when I try to boot it on the 360... :S
Both were burnt using IMGBurn @ 2x, on dvd+r TDK. I changed the booktype and set the layer break @ 1913760 because of the missing .dvd files.
Anyone knows how to solve this?!
Btw, switching to Verbatim didn't help at all... :'(

Not true, I've used ONLY Memorex and have never had a single coaster. I've done over 70 burns, and never a single coaster.
It could be the download is just a bad torrent overall. I also use clone-cd myself. Try re-burning the game after a reboot.
If that doesn't work, and you're extremely determined to get it to work, reflash your firmware. Could help.

It's not easy to find Verbatim +R where I live. But some time ago I got my hands on a 5 pack of them. Only 2 out of those 5 worked fine. I have also tried Clone-Cd a bunch of times, and I got the same result, some work, some don't... And as my computer is on 24/7 I always restart it when I need to burn a 360 game.
Could it be a problem with my DVD writer? I read somewhere that LG drives are not the best to burn 360 backups.

Sure Memorex, Ritek, and Aone data DL dvds will all work, but then after you play for awhile you will be replacing your dvd drive like this situation for example. You are doing nothing but stressing the laser on the drive. So now you are most likely going to have to replace your dvd drive.

Homesick is right. It's not about whether your backup immediately becomes a coaster or not, it's about whether the backup stands the test of time and is still working a year later. In my personal experience, memorex do not stand the test of time, but that's just me.

If i were you i'd do a pot tune. Make sure you write down where you start, and go in small intervals. I'm guessing the laser is too weak to perfectly bounce light the way it was designed to. The weak light could be interpreted wrong and you would get the "to play this disc" or "dirty disc" errors.
Try a pot tune and in the meantime order a new laser. The new lasers should be fairly cheap and it's a direct replacement.
