Hi Guys,
I downloaded Grears of War 2. After checking the iso using XDVDMulleter 10.2, I found that all the country boxes in the window were checked including the region free box and the iextreme comptable box. I burnt the game and I am currently playing gears of war 2 with no issues at all.
Problem: After that, I downloaded NHL09 and Fall 3 (both for USA and for XBOX360). I checked the iso information using XDVDMUlleter 10.2 and found out that they both were only checked for USA,UK and Australia only. The other country boxes were not checked. The region free box in the window was also not checked. They both were iextreme compatble.
I burned them using imgburn and using Verbatim DVD+RDL. After successful burn, I inserted them in the console and I got a message saying "The region code is not compatible with your console"
I am not sure why this is happening. Does this mean that my console will accept only region free games? Can some one please assist me.
Thanks a lot. I am doing this first time and would appreciate any assistance in resolving this issue.
Thanks again.

I am sorry if I was rude. I did not mean that.
I will appreciate if you can help me out. You mentioned that my console could be PAL. I have played some NTSC games (not downloaded or burnt by me, but was told by a firend of mine who downloaded and gave me those games) in past.
Also, downloading Fall 3 I checked that US,UK,AUS regions were checked in the XDVDMulleter window. The region free box was not checked. So I am wondering this game should have worked regardless of my console being NTSC or PAL.
Thanks for your help. Once again, I am sorry if I was rude in my previous email.
Thx

Where did you buy your 360?
Also just try to play a pal game and see if it works.(Not region Free)
Sounds like you either have a pal 360 or a NTSC-j Console.

Could you tell me what is NTSC-j?
I purchased my unit from a guy in Boston who told me that the box is flashed/modded and will play NTSC games, not the PAL ones. One of my closest friends, burned some games and told me that they are NTSC games and that I should not have a problem. I never had a problem in past but now when I am downlading by myself and assuming that I have an NTSC unit, I am having trouble in figuring out that what unit exactly I have.
Thanks.

Based on yzrider22's guess, I checked my console and found out it is actually an NTSC-J (Japan) console. Only Asian or US (no regioan compatibility) games game will work on that console.
The NHL09 an Fall3 both were only US games and were not region free as well that is why they did not work.
Thanks for your help.

You need to go back to the guy in Boston and put him in a rear naked choke for screwing you over. Good thing is was flashed or you would really be screwed.

Yeah I know. He was right in saying that it was an NTSC unit.....not clarifying that it was an NTSC-j and not an NTSC US......I did not do my research as well....but you are right atleast it was flashed.
Thanks.
