NXE + game installs = no more dvd-dl burns?

i don't know if this is the proper place to post this, so just get rid of this topic if it's not allowed. i'm new here =)
according to eurogamer, the new xbox experience will allow us to 'install' games onto our hard drives. does this mean that we'll be able to load modified backups onto our system's HD and just play from there rather than having to burn the things first?
like, is it possible to get the NXE update and use a standard USB-based external hard drive to load backups onto the hard drive of my box? i wouldn't be playing them online...i don't even know if you can, i've never tried anything like this before.

You can put your back up in your system with the NXE update and copy the game to the harddrive but you still need the disc in order to play it

you need original games. when it's loaded on the hard drive, it'll check if the disc is in the tray before it loads. one of the checks is if it's an original.

nope, already been stated by someone that has downloaded the leaked version of NXE and it will boot them from a burnt copy.

i wonder if the next firmware hack will get rid of that disc check requirement, similar to modified .exe files in scene releases.

with people getting banned for games on live and the fact people say its safe to play backups offline anf nxe can use burnt games to validate loading
can nxe prevent bannings?
if the game is checked ofline and after that is loaded from HD no chance of banning right
anyway just a thought

was this on a flashed 360 with the leaked NXE? if it was on a normal 360, microsoft is gonna lose more money, and people can rejoice (well, those who knows about it). i wonder if the system will check the disc before installing to the hard drive.
and the NXE with LIVE is a good question. i think it'll be like this; check the disc, log the info, boot off hard drive, then send the info when logged into LIVE.
if only we can swap in the new 2.5" WD 500gig scorpio blue or the 320gig 7200rpm scorpio black. that would be massive game collections.

=) i didn't want to say it being a new kid, but i thought that was a somewhat indifferent response.
here's my question, then - if you play offline, can you update your live profile with a memory card to get the gamerscore from the games you've played offline?

I had my 360 flashed AFTER installing the leaked NXE, and I haven't been asked if i want to install the burned games on my hard drive.
Thought I'd let you guys know.

the thread i was reading about, the poster was stating that he was capable of loading the game onto the HD and then when it was 'checking' the disc, it was looking at a burnt disc.
and as for what adambar said, there was no need for a long drawn out answer when a simple no said all that needed to be said. so why should i waste my time writing a thesis on why what he asked cant be done?? dont see the point in wasting my time, or anyone's time when they come back to read the response.

You don't need to write a thesis, just a short explanation behind your answer could help tremendously, especially since you obviously have some useful knowledge you could lend. Whatever though, it's your response and you can do whatever you like with it.

i got a question wel basicali with the nxe wi dont understand whats the point of burning games to the hard drive if you still need the disk in the tray? i find that a bit stupid the only thin that would do is cut loadint times? corect me if im wrong n if i am wel that would mean no more acked firmware as wel yo could pop down to a game store by games rip em to the hdd n then play well obviusli thats too good to be true so can someone jsut confirm that you need the disk in order to play the games on the harddrive and whats the advantage? thanks

your keyboard looks like it needs a clean..
It just seems like a kind of anti-piracy check. It's a shame the disc is needed in the tray as if you decide to play a different game you have to get up and swap the disc; it'd be nice if it was like the old type xboxes ie you wouldn't need the disc but i suppose it's better than nothing..
edit- i installed the NXE update yesterday and the new dashboard is really cool, but didn't get chance to test installing a game, and certainly wasn't going to try to go online before the 19th :)

it just saves wear and tear on the dvd drive basically, as the load times aren't much faster than if you were playing off of the original dvd itself.
