I copied some songs from a usb thumb drive to my PS3 about 3 weeks ago. Everything has played fine since except the other day when I hit X on a song toward the middle of the list of songs I had. It said unsupported data on the song that has played fine before. So I went to the next song and same thing happened, kept trying others and could not get any of them to play. I finally went to the first song on the list and hit x and it played fine and i let it play and skipped to the next and it played. The songs that said unsupported data still say that and will not play. I have played these songs over and over again before all this happened. Anyone know whats up or experienced this before?

What file format are the songs? Did you perform a system update between when you had them playing and when they became unsupported?

Didn't do any updates that I am aware of. When I go to the "unsupported data" file and press triangle then go to information it has all the track info there, artist, song, album, etc. but does not show file type.
As I think about it now it started when I went to play a song while playing Midnight Club LA and I went to play a song from around the middle of the list. And no songs would play except for the first one on the list. Any other song I would go to would say unsupported data and they still say that after a few days now and will not play.
I can delete the songs and re-add them but I don't want to go through this every time I want to play some music while playing games. Thanks for the help.

It's possible the song files just got corrupted, Try reloading them and see what happens.
