You dont tell us what modchip you have installed, but error 001 most likely means a wiikey. Follow this guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/597460

Use 1.9s, and filechop just looks confusing. Follow the steps one at a time and you'll be ok. There are also padded images that are already filechopped so you dont have to mess with them, they just take longer to download.

Its possible that you dont have a wiikey but some other modchip. Unfortunately the only way to check is to open up the console and look at it.

It's also possible you have a clone wiikey that does not work with the newer firmwares. If so then the only way around that I know of is truncha-signing the game images to remove the 001 check and then booting them through gecko os on the homebrew channel. Thats a rather complicated process and I dont know of a guide though.

I meant modchip firmware. Wiikey clones were generally not compatable with wiikey firmwares after 1.9b.

3.1e is the wii's firmware level and has nothing to do with the function of or updating the modchip.

amren, should post in your own thread about your problem as hijacking other member's threads is a forum rule no no.

Everyone that has issues needs to know what Modchip you have so you can get the appropriate Modchip update that fixes the #001 error.

The only way to know what modchip you have is to open the Wii and check. If you can't tell by looking at the modchip take a picture of it and post it here so others can verify what Modchip it is.

You should be able to boot the game past the #001 error by using Gecko OS (homebrew). So if you don't have the tools to open the Wii to check what modchip you have then try using Gecko OS.
