I have tried a couple methods of flashing my 360 and have zero successful when I use xtreme bootmaker and iprep to get the original fw I get to the part where you select your drive. Once I select my drive I get "Port: b200, master/slave: a0" and the firmware does not get backed up to the USB stick. All the tut's I have read say it starts after selecting the drive but nothing here. What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?

having troubles as well so figured i would mine here as its a MS28...i think. dont have info my drive and was told IPREP could tell me if i have MS28 or MS25 but cant get IPREP to work.

if anyone that can help me has that PDF "Hacking 360 for noobs" if you go to page 65 and this is where im stuck.

step 1. select patch MTKFLASH - DONE!
step 2. select your SATA controller from the list. if you can not locate the correct one in the drop-down list, hit the button below to switch between ide/scsi based controllers.- here is where im stuck with no help and ready to scream in frustration...

i Have no controllers to pick from under SCSI controllers. it tells me "Unable to find and devices" I dont know if at this point im suppose to have my Xbox drive connected to my computer but i have tried it both ways. Every damn thing i find online doesnt have this prob so they continue right on and i cant find any where online with ppl have same problem.

please help this sucks so damn much putting all this money to be stopped here...

been playing around and went into my bios and saw my samsung drive in there under SATA 1 primary i think is where i saw it. But since in the bios i can read it do i need to buy that sata card adapter?

ok, heres how i flashed an ms28 the other week
1. make iprep stick with samsung FW 1.4
2. turn computer on and 360 on at same time
3. once booted into iprep hit yes to accept agreement, then when at the main screen plug sata cable into 360 drive.
4. type in dsam 1234567 12345
5. once it pops up with the drives listed, turn off the 360, then select whatever number is the extreme pri master,
6. count to ten seconds (use a stop watch or something with a second hand, as mine had to be EXACTLY 10 seconds to work)
7. turn on 360 and it should dump the FW
8. when it says its done, turn off 360 and restart computer, boot into windows and open up firmware toolbox to make sure it dumped a real FW instead of something like FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF or 777777777777. if it did do the all f's or 7's, open up the backup FW folder it created, select one of them, and copy it, and paste it over the 'original' and hit replace key.
9. reboot into iprep, hit yes, type in fsam 1234567 12345
10. turn off drive again, hit drive number, count to ten, turn it on and it will flash,
11. make sure it plays burnt games, if it does re-assemble the case and have fun.

What SATA card did you use? I was trying the on board SATA (Gigabyte Motherboard) but someone gave me a Rosewell SATA 1.5G/ATA 133 RAID Controller Card which on newegg said it will work. I'm going to try it again with the new card and your instructions. More to follow....

Thanks

...Now more follows. I followed the instructions with the new card however I have run into a new snag. It flashed the banks and sayes it's ok to reboot however I get the following error: An internal stack overflow has caused this session to be halted. Change the stacks settings in your config.sys file, and then try again.

What do I do now. Note it will not recognize a original game nor a backup of a game I own now. It reads "To play this disc, put it in an Xbox 360 console."

Thanks

just a quick note , may or may not help but the two ms28s i flashed didnt work with 10 seconds, instead it had to be instantly so try that turn them off but instead of waitinf 10 seconds from hitting enter to turning it on try turning it on immediatly after the enter button.

goodluck

I was at work and it just came to me. I failed to replace the FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF with the correct key. It's amazing what happens when you follow directions and pay attention. I reflashed it when I got home and it works perfect.

Thanks
