How do I tell my 360's manufacturing date other than by looking at the date in the rear of the case?

Since my 360's serial number in the back of the case does not match the serial number in system info, I don't know when this 360 was made. When I go to system info it says "2008 microsoft corporation" but everytime I disconnect the 360 the internal calendar is reset to 2005. Is there some website where I can enter the serial number of my 360, as it appears on system info, and see the actual manufacture date?

why ? are you trying to see if you have liteon drive inside ??
just pop the face plate off and look for the colored wires...

i dont see what it matters, just take it to gamestop and trade it in for something you like, maybe some ps3 stuff.

it matters because if my 360 was manufactured this year then I'll fear less that the console with overheat and die and perhaps I'll enjoy it more.

stop worrying about it... i've heard that consoles manufactured after nov 2007 have less chance of RRoD .. but i don't believe that is any guarantee it won't get it..
also, the more recent consoles suffer from a different issue of an AV chip near the HDMI port burning out...
my point is it doesn't matter when it was manufactured it can still have problems just ENJOY IT ... !! its a great console.

get your self a nyko intercooler ex, make sure the bit that plugs into the power socket of your 360 is metal not the older plastic one (on the intercooler)
this drasticly reduces the tempeture of the 360
my 360 is used for 2 to 3 hours most days then all day thursday (from around 1300 till 0500 sometimes later) then on fridays its game night and used for longer still (till around 0800 saturday) it has been used like that for over a year and a half never had any problems
my 2nd 360 only used really on fridays has no intercooler and if you touch the case you can feel the difference, how ever it is used just as much as the main one on a friday
in short you hear more about 360s that do red ring then you do about those that dont (so dont stress it) just slap an intercooler on it for peace of mind

you sound like a old friend of mine, afraid of everything, he went to the doctor because he thought he mite get sick, he was afraid of vacation because he mite have a car wreck,he was afraid of getting married because he mite get divorced.
