Ok guys I need some more help. I used Dr1ver's guide to install an NES emulator. I followed the guide and then went to my memory stick to start the emulator. But I got the (80020148) Error massage. then after some looking around I found out I need to have my 1.50 Kernal Enabled so I enabled it. then I went to the game menu to start the emulator but I got the(80010002) Error message. Then I updated my 1.50 Kernel to the one for my firmware. But now when I start the emulator the screen goes black and after a while my psp shuts off.
INFO
Firmware: 5.00m33-3
PSP: Phat
Emulator: NesterJ NES Emulator 1.20beta2
Thanks for all the help guys!

You'll get better responses if you post in the proper forum.
This dosen't have to do with firmware or modding.
I would suggest posting this under Sony PSP - Homebrew Software
If I had any experience with NES emulation on the PSP I'd give my 2 cents, however that's a path I've yet to travel down...key word "yet".
You know I give you the mad, phat, superfly, stupid-dope, dumb-ass, retarded, bomb-sh*t props!
What else do you want from me!?!

Well do you have the 1.50 kernal installed? Is it in the right folder (i put my emulators in the 1.50 folder)? Is the emulator compatible with 5.00M33? That might be what is causing you problems.

get a newer version of nesterj, im not sure because im using slim but i dont use the 1.50 addon or TM even though it is also available for slim users now because most latest homebrew no longer need the 1.50 firmware so like i said try finding a newer version of nesterj because it runs just fine for me on slim

Ok Lonestar5. I was thinking about your post on the way home from class and decided today is the day I work with NES emulation on psp (and you get your answer to NES emulation)
I too am using 5.00 m33-3 software. Phat/Slim doesn't matter.
The core difference is I downloaded NesterJ v1.11 RM instead of the 1.20 beta.
You can get v1.11 RM here.
After that unzip it.
***IMPORTANT AS HELL!!!***
There should be a folder titled "NESTERJ_1_11_RM"
Do not rename it! Copy that folder exactly as it is into your "GAME150" folder on your psp memory stick.
The reason for this is b/c the emu is defaulted to look for roms in the ms0:/PSP/GAME150/NESTERJ_1_11_RM/ROMS/ folder. That's why its important to do this part exactly.
***End important as hell note***
Please note that your kernal does NOT need to be 1.5. It should be on 5.XX.
Now take any roms you want, unzip them so they're in their .nes form, and drop them into the roms folder. I guess decompression wasn't built into the program. Sad, but it's a free service being provided to us so I'm not complaining.
Now just start it up from your game menu like normal.
Things to note:
-To access the emulators menu, press left on the analog stick. This is where all configuration, save states and loads, etc... take place
***IMPORTANT***
-When exiting the game, do not hit "HOME" then yes. This will crash your psp for some reason. Instead go to the emulators menu and at the bottom there's a
***END IMPORTANT***
-Holding the R trigger rewinds time. Freaking awesome feature!
-The X T [] O buttons act as an A, B, Turbo A, and Turbo B buttons. Configure these in the emulator menu.
Hope all this helped out man.

My pleasure dude. Enjoy those NES Roms.
Btw, me doing that cost me 3 hours yesterday as I felt it necessary to thoroughly test out the emulator with the game Section-Z from start to finish lol
I missed NES roms so thx for motivating me to get going on this ;)
