I probably did but I'm just making sure.

I tried to roll back my CFW without my Pandora Battery (slim) and got a bunch of PANIC errors during the update and now the PSP flashes and holds a green light and does not power on, classic brick symptom.

I put my Pandora Battery in, thinking it might help me bring it back, and the light does not flash on at all. It doesn't even attempt to charge the battery. I loaned the battery to a friend who wanted to mod his PSP, but he complained that the battery didn't work.

So - assuming my Pandora Battery is bad - would fixing the battery give me a way to restore, or am I shit out of luck?

Thanks for the help.

thats what I was hoping you'd say, but the fact that my friend's PSP with original firmware could not get it to power on with the Pandora Battery leads me to believe its somehow busted. Also, I left the battery plugged into the PSP for a charge cycle and the amber charging light never came on once.

I'm not sure how this could occur, given that it was used once, but assuming its just the battery - will I be able to restore my PSP?

assuming its just the battery, yes you should be able to bring your psp back to life with a functional pandora and magic memory stick.

question though, did you ever use this battery with success before and is it a slim battery or phat battery?

I have, and I used it just once. Its a hardmodded battery for my slim (break the pin). It worked fine once, then I put it away for a long time. I assumed it lost its charge, but I otherwise did not mess with it, so I assumed it worked.

I handed it off to a friend who couldn't get it to work. he sent it back to me, and I never could get the PSP to even register that it was in the unit.

Now, however, I put it in, and its behaving the same way it did before with the initial normal PSP battery - solid green light for a few seconds, no screen display, then it goes out. however, the PSP does not show that its charging the pandora battery (no amber light).

It DOES show the charging battery amber light when I put the normal battery in.

I am reluctant to buy a new mobo because I'm not 100% sure I bricked it. Assuming it IS just the battery, that saves me some money and makes it much more accessible for me to fix.

by the way, in case its relevant - I was trying to downgrade to 1.5 from 3.71M33 when this all happened. based on my initial research it looks like I killed it, but I am really hoping with a battery I can bring it back.

I see, theres your problem. Because it's a hardmodded battery (pin is permanently lifted) you wont be able to charge it. Try and resolder to the contact point or look into pandora with a switch.

bah, i pulled the pin out completely. any suggestions on a suitable leg other than a very delicate soldering thread that may or may not hold up?

WAIT! You can still use your hardmodded battery! When you try to downgrade make sure your psp completely off. Then connect your psp to your charger without the mms and the battery. Then put in the mms then the battery. This should work because I also have a hard modded pandora battery. My battery doesnt work without the charger.

Hope this works!

I think you didnt put the right files on the mms. try making again.

To see if your psp is bricked, put in a normal battery and turn it on. If it turns on but it shows a black screen, then its bricked. If you can get into the recovery mode then its semi bricked.
