Ok so I have one friend who has a 360 console with a MS25 drive, and the other friend has a console with a MS28 drive. We are using the VIA Chipset, we can successfully boot up to the screen from the USB where it asks if you wanna backup or flash your firmware, however when we try any of these, we always get an error in big red writing, we also get errors like "No Drive Detected", we seriously need to flash these consoles, as where we live, the shops only sell backup games. If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.
This is what worked for me i assume you are using Iprep 101. The actual program bombs out for me so when you see the menu for choosing ToshibaSamsung or Benq HIT Q for quit and go to dos.
There you enter cd tools that takes you to where mtkflash is stored
Then enter mtkflash r /sata /m orig.bin
Then it gives you a message of 1. iPrep Pri Master (turn off the 360)
Enter the 1 and it gives you Port number and something else
Some people say turn it on after 10 secs but it worked instantaneously for me
Then boot up your PC with HD connected so you can check the orig.bin on your flash drive for the orig.bin and with the xbox 360firmware toolkit (google it) check to see if the bin file is valid
If it is then boot back with 360 drive connected hit q for dos prompt
and type cd tools
then firmtool orig.bin <hacked firmware> (whatever it may be i assume ixtreme 1.4)
this creates the hacked firmware with your DVD's key inside
Last but not least type mtkflash w /sata /m ix14.bin (the ix14.bin is created by the firmtool command)
