I was just wandering which homemade tool is best for opening the XBOX 360?

So far the only "around the house" options I have seen are:

-CDR Spindle Cover / Cut to Proper size with 1 cm external tabs.

-Or just a Flat Blade Precision Screwdriver.

I've read that the plastic cover cut to size is the best way to keep the case from getting scratched.

Does the cut up plastic cover work properly?

I really appreciate everyone that can offer their personal experience disassembling their machine and what tool they used to "Unlock the Box".

i use a small screwdriver, i've opened around 15 with that method.

I always stole one of my girlfriends bobby pins and removed the rubber caps. Seems to work fine, however i did happen to scratch one of the holes on the back that way but M$ still took the console and repaired it.

Everyones answers were applied to my BOX dis-assembly.

I did make a spindle tool that worked perfectly.

Click..Click...Click... Etc and it's open.

The small flat blade screwdriver, used gently to push the visible clips aside was extremely helpful.

I was able to remove all the vent covers without peeling a rubber foot off which was nice.

They designed the case with great precision as it clips back together just as easily as it comes apart.

I successfully flashed my BenQ and it's currently playing Origs and BackUps on a 12X iXtreme 1.41 FW.

{First start-up after flashing the drive, the only option available was "Eject Disc" and I was like WTF!}

Resolution:
(DVD-ROM SATA Cable was not plugged in) Bwahaahaha!

The whole flashing endeavor was so simple once you work out the quirks associated with your PC motherboard.

You've got to love the the BSODs and HDD lockups Vista displays when hitting the old DosFlash32.exe ...

Resolution:
(BenQ XBOX SATA cable attached to SATA port 1)
(Operating System - SATA Hard Drive cable attached to SATA port 4)

I really don't use Live! as any Multiplayer game I play on PC.

Hopefully in the near future we will have custom dashboard abilities like the XBOX1 and FTP and +++ features.

Bought a tool from dealextreme for 3bucks and change.
Also got one with my blue xcm case.
It's been great but if you have the screw driver it works just as good if not better than the tool.
