Need help backing up original xbox 360 games

I have a Kreon Samsung DVD drive model # SH-D163B. It is already firmware flashed. I have been trying to get XBox Backup Creator to backup my original XBox 360 games. When the program is opened the drive is recognized and the game is recognized but I cannot hit the start button to read the game because it is grayed out. Can someone please help or give me another way to accomplish this. Thanks

yes i might be able to help
this happend to me but i was using the 360 drive in mode b...i had to go to drive tools and then click security sectors...that should tell the drive to read the disk and you should be able to dump the game...well good luck let me know if this helped

all he needs to do is probably just hit the unlock disc button and it will work. as im sure its only seeing 5.32 MB instead of the full 7 gigs of it.

The unlock drive button is grayed out and I am not able to click it. I seen that on another forum also but I could not do it.

download schtrom and try it and see if it will let you backup the games.

I tried the schtrom and it will only let me backup copys of backups not original discs. The backup creator is recognizing all 7 gigs.

Will Upgrading my firmware from v 0.81 to 1.0 fix this problem or is it a totally differt problem? Has anyone else fixed this problem, Ive seen lots of posts with others having the problem but havent seen any posts with the solution. Anyone???

Same here. Greyed out start button. I can extract a backed up copy but it will not ungrey for an orgional X Disc. Same Kreon drive. Have both Xbox creator and Schtrom. Need help like everyone else. So close but yet soooo far.. LOL

GREYED OUT START BUTTON ON XBOX CREATOR...... I fixed my problem by dumb luck but maybe it can help.... I like to give back... :-)

I reinstalled the Xbox creator and when it installed i left ALL default directories ( usually I install it where i want it ) but when I did that the icons came up just like usual and I wasn't hopefull BUT I launched it from the default directory and it worked, NO GREY OUT... wierd... but it worked. What i orgionally did was install it and create a shortcut to desktop and when ever I tried to launch like that I would get grey out. So 1. install ( Default directory ) and 2. when it comes up in a window after install launch it stright from there and BINGO!! You could be ok like me!

I created a shortcut on mu desktop to the folder path so I can launch it like that everytime.

Like I said it was dumb luck but it worked. Hope this helped. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip I am going to order my dvdrom today so this is handy to know.

But I have another question maybe you guys could help.

I read they 2 types fo drive to use
sh-d162d (IDE) and the sh-d163b (SATA)

and I have both connections but I have found this
