Help Extracting Hitachi Drive Key

My hitachi drive is broken so Im trying to get the drive key so I can spoof it with my benq drive so I can use that.

The problem is I get the drive showing up in wondow mode b however it doesn't read any games so I cant run toolbox as it says please insert game to dump the fw. I insert a game and the drive is broken so it doesn't read it. Is there anyway to get the key without having to play a game? Thanks

Try putting in a dvd instead, its easier to read so even if your laser is almost out it should still probably work

If it was me I would hold onto the BenQ, cause it's like gold, and try to buy another hitachi drive with the same rom version and swap out the logic boards so that you don't have to get the key from your dead drive.
Unless someone else knows a better way or a reason why my thinking is incorrect.
