well i used slax to get my drive into mode b and it came up spinning disc presses eject and was in mode b (took 2 press to close drive and reopened in 3 sec)

i then restared and had to unplug the sata cable untill windows came up or it wouldn't boot

when windows finally booted there was a new drive added

i then used firmtool box to read the firmware and it hangs for a while the comes up no gdr drve found

and if go to click on the drive in my computer everything locks up

any help please

? Why are you using firmware toolbox and not flashix.bat with a 59?
When I use slax after hitting eject when you see disk spinning up I login with the "root" "toor" and then type "reboot". The slax disk pops out and windows starts up. Then go into explorer and verify the drive is there and ejects. Then go to flashix.bat voila.

Also I never pull out the sata cable.

but when i click on the drive in explorer my computer frezzes and explorer stops responing

Still if you use flashix.bat you'll get the following .bin files
key.bin
now.bin
was.bin
59b_16-12x.bin or whatever speed you choose.
Then you can open up your was.bin file with fwtb and get your key. I just checked with some backups that I'm keeping of a 59 I've done.

im using it right now and it says making backup of your drive key and its been there for about 3 minutes now

thats what s says on the board

i also have 2 on the mobo but didn't have much luck with them wth a samsung so don't no if that helps

I'm also assuming that you have the sata cable plugged into port 1 on that pci card? If it's like mine there are two. One inside the pc and the other is external and on the back.
I also recall reading something about having Raid disabled. I'm not too savvy on that but i know I made sure mine was off in the card settings.

nope the other port put it into modeb but never showed up in windows


well i tried a dffrent cord and i got a file size of 192 and thats a start but not valid

I think if you go into control panel you should be able to go to system and then pick device manager then find the setting for your pci sata card.

and the werid part is that my sata card program is sayng gdr drive and everythng but none of these programs can read it



ps. do you need a game/dvd in the drive or does the drive have to be open or does it matter

i went into safe mode and used firmware toolbox
