I have "upgraded" to the custom firmwares for friends a few times before using my fixed memory stick and pandora battery. It installs I think it was 3.90 M33 custom firmware. Of the PSPs I have fixed, their official firmware has been lower than 3.90.
My coworker wants me to fix his son's PSP but it is a Fat PSP with 5.01 firmware on it. Can this PSP be downgraded just like any other PSP?

I followed several tutorials, but everytime the same black screen.
The green power light turns on but, on the screen nothing appears.

Did you two try pressing buttons? If its a slim chances are that it can't load the screen so just press x to install cfw.
PS if green light turns on and the wifi and memory access indicators flash then u have correctly made the battey. Let me know if it helps.

Only the green power light turns on, but the orange wifi light doesn't go on.
Yesterday, I've tried everything. At last, after u used the program Rainy's Magic Memorystick, but i hadn't copied any unbrick files, my psp started up with the pandora battery in it. That was new, because it didn't work that way befor.
Then I copied the unbrick files(to 3.71m33-2) and placed the battery in again and it worked. I dont know of that main program solved the problem, but it works.
My english isn't very good, so maybe it is a bit confusing. Contact me when it is.
