In a plea agreement filed in San Francisco Federal Court, Sharp Corp, LG Display Co. Ltd, and Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd. all agreed to pay $585 million USD in fines after being investigated for conspiracy to fix prices on LCD panels.

The price fixing didn't just affect American consumers, but American companies as well. Dell Inc, Apple Computer Inc, and Motorola Inc. were also stuck footing the higher priced bill.

Sharp was fined $120 million, Chunghwa, a Taiwanese company and LG Display, were fined $65 and 400 million respectively. Sharp's CEO, chairman, and others will volunteer to return 10 to 30% of their compensation for 3 months to 'alleviate concerns.'
