Hi guys I have a benq drive in my xbox 360 with firmware 1.41 on it Recently my drive has been having problems reading disks old and new so i guess the laser is on the way out. I have ordered a new benq vad6038 drive to replace it with and i have no problem putting the ixtreme 1.41 onto the drive but i dont know how to take the drive key off the old drive and put it onto the new drive, can anyone help please or does anyone know where i can find out? sorry if this is an obvious question i used iprep 1.006 originally to put on the 1.41 firmware. cheers guys to any help you can give me

Just put your old board in the new drive.

As long as the 2 drives are the same model and version, then yes, it's as easy as that.

Nope. You're good.

That rule applies in general. Meaning you can swap with Hitachi's, Benq's, Sammy's, and LiteOn's. Hit's and Sam's have different verisons. So, if you ever run across this problem in the future with a different console, now you know.
