I've just rather foolishly upgraded the Wii from 3.2 to 3.4 (I know, I know!!).
I've heard that I can reverse this process but have done various searches & can only find guides for 3.3 to 3.2 (and not from 3.4).
I'm not bothered about any homebrew channels or fancy stuff like that, I just want it back the way it was (so that I can play COD WAW).
Can anyone point me in the right direction (please make it not too complicated!)
By the way it's a Pal Wii with a Winja V2 fitted (or so i'm lead to believe).
Thanks.

I do believe that you need the Homebrew channel installed to perform the downgrade. (Easiest Method)
What I have been reading is that, if you previously installed the Homebrew Channel and THEN/AFTER the installation you upgrade the Wii to 3.4, everything still works and the HomeBrew channel still remains.
Get the 3.4 info here:

If you don't already have homebrew channel installed then you cant downgrade currently. 3.4 blocks the twilight hack, which you need to run the downgrader or install homebrew channel.
Your games should all still work though unless they've been truncha signed. Get an unedited copy of of COD and it should work.

I foolishly did the same thing too trying to resolve issues with my Wii not reading some backup disks properly. I have downgraded the Wii to 2.2U, then work my way up to 3.1U, also downgraded Wiikey from 1.9s to 1.9g then back to 1.9s but to no avail. Thought online update will bring it back to 3.3U but realized it is now at 3.4. I can no longer install wad as before so now I am stuck with 3.4U. Any advice on how to proceed anyone?

Thanks for the replies.
I've tried a few discs since & they all work, but would really like to play COD.
Therefore, 2 more questions:-
1 - How do I know if a copy of COD is unedited?
2 - Is there nothing I can do to the COD iso I have to make it work (patch, decrypt etc?)?

I do believe now its a matter of time and patience....
Need to wait for the HomeBrew community to resolve this issue....
Untill then, you may need to use retail versions of games, I would disconnect the Wii from the online community because of the new Wii Network Service Privacy Policy Update
"We may without notifying you, download updates, patches, upgrades and similar software to your Wii Console and may disable unauthorized or illegal software placed on your Wii Console to ensure that your Wii Console is operating properly and efficiently, comply with applicable laws, assist law enforcement, protect us and our customers, or prevent the use and distribution of software obtained through improper channels."

Oh Yeah.... Backed up games will still work, since your Wii is hardware modded.

If it works, its unedited. lol. If your downloading the isos look for one from one of the bigger release groups. They generally release 'clean' disk images.
And no, truncha-signing cannot be undone. Game disks are 'signed' by nintendo. Without that signature the game won't run, even with a modchip (Unless you have homebrew channel installed anyway)
When a disk is edited in any way it breaks the signing, and it will need to be resigned before it will work. Truncha is a program that resigns, but firmware 3.3 blocked it so edited games no longer work unless booted through the homebrew channel.

I see, so basically just sit tight for a while, pull the plug on the wifi & find a 'decent' copy of Cod.
Thanks for the help.

By the way, this is the 'Moment' version.
I take it then that this isn't a good version!

I , by mistake, downgraded my wii from 3.4u to 3.2u. I recently bought animal crossing:cf and it says that i have to upgrade to play this game. Is it safe for me to upgrade even if i have the homebrew channel? i read on other sites that if i update, it will brick my wii. otherwise, is there any other way that i can update it if there is a rick to update it
thx,
