i just recently updated my wii to 3.4e (1.9s updated wiikey) and for some reason none of my out of region games are working, such as animal crossing on teh wii and ssbb (both ntsc patched to pal). I was ultimately wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as me since the only 2 game i really wanna play arent working :(

I also forgot to mention that SSBB worked fine in 3.2e and completely stopped working when i updated to 3.3e. my main query is really to see if anyone else is having similar problems and if there is a solution apart from downloading on PAL iso's

you will have to downgrade to 3.2 E
do you have the Homebrew Channel installed? if so, then use Wainiko's Downgrader to downgrade to 3.2E
if you don't have the Homebrew Channel installed then sorry, you cannot install it on 3.4 because it blocks the Twilight Hack; which is used to install the Homebrew Channel.

The region patcher you used probably uses the trucha signature to sign the disc. 3.3 firmware update and above block trucha signed disc from working.

Your best option is to download the PAL versions. If you can not find the PAL versions then redownload the NTSC and WiibrickBlock the disc (do not region patch them). Then set your Wiikey region override to ON and it should boot the disc.

i have tried wiibrickblocker on the ntsc versions but the game info before and after it gets patched stays the same for some odd reason (on the tab above the "patch" button) :\ i think i have already tried to run an iso of Animal Crossing with the brickblocker in place but i get the same results, just a black screen with an error. and i have tried activating region override on too, but may i ask, should dev mode be on? because its the only option that is off. and my drive speed is 6x if that has anything to do with it.

thanx for the speedy reply too guys, i appreciate it!

@polyd8 so you don't have the Homebrew Channel installed for a chance at downgrading?

WiiBrickBlocker disables the update on the disc it doesn't change any region coding at all. So you wouldn't see a difference when viewing the INFO option in WiiBrickBlocker.

As for Animal crossing there is an update that needs to be installed for the hardware Wiispeak.

There is a work around for users that have 3.3 ver1 firmware or below but since you are at 3.4 you can not perform this work around (you need to install a specific WAD file and the new 3.4 update blocks WAD files from being installed).

So you will need to burn the Animal Crossing ISO without running it through WiiBrickBlocker (make sure it is a PAL version of Animal Crossing) then perform the update. (Do not perform the update if the Animal Crossing backup your using is NTSC(U) version).

@Guerilla No mate, sorry, i actually regret not installing it now.

@larrylje Well, according to the website i got it off, it was already patched or sumthing, and so far there is no such thing as a PAL version of Animal Crossing as of yet so i guess ill have to wait. either that or until teh twilight hack team manage to make a workaround of 3.4. but what really gets me is the fact that it is just ntsc backups that refuse to work, PAL ones work fine (but that may be just cos i have a PAL wii...). even the override isnt working, oh man, no ssbb or animal crossing for me :(

As I said before if you patched them with a region patcher then the region patcher may have trucha signed the disc (as some region patcher use this method).

If this is the case then you will need to get an NTSC version and WiiBrickBlock it and do not region patch the disc.

But doesnt wiibrickblocker actually patch it, considering it says "patch", or does it jsut block updates, which is what you said before. but i still dont get how it makes the game work, since i can hear the wii reading the disk and then it stops and the error pops up.

btw, sorry if im a n00b, im a 16yr old who prefers more...physical electonics, im not that good with software :(

WiiBrickBlocker only patches the update not the region.

im also on 3.4e and have a wiikey2
all i did to get mine working was by only using the wiibrickblocker and not the regionfrii software and i also installed imgburn and used that, at first it came up on my wii so i started the game and got "the disc could not the read" so i ejected it and put it back in with out reseting the wii and it kicked back in and started to work with no problems....yes it looks like i should get better DVD but from this topic i got mine to work

one question tho as i have a wiikey 2 can i use the 1.9s update?
