I have been using cdcovers.cc to download my dvd backup covers. Does anyone know of another good site for this, as they don't have all of them? Also, i just been opening the jpeg's in Word and resizing, is there a program that would make this easier? Thanks in advance

cdcovers.cc is the best I have found
why not use the software you can download from cdcovers.cc I print all My shit out with it its perfect!!!! altho remember to put ya printer back to 297 x 210 afterwards

Just one more! I'm having trouble backing up dvd's that are a bit damaged with scratches, is there a good method of cleaning them at all? i used water and a soft cloth but still decrypter fails to rip it!

Radio Shack sells a repair kit for Discs that can be salvaged - hard scratches can't be salvaged -
To clean DVD Discs, use a few drops of alcohol and a soft cotton cloth, rub firmly from the center out -
For those that can be salvaged, backup immediately -

Thanks Pete. What do you mean about additional pictures of films? Do you mean i can get the VOB that is damaged?

Thanks again, just had a look at radio shack and it's obviously american, i'm in the uk so i'll try and find a repair kit! I just tried vodka and a soft cloth and decrypter still failed! Disc doesn't even look that bad either!

here's a cheep tip for minor scatches.........duraglit and a soft cloth. i have managed to salvage a few discs using this. is also great on a scratched watch glass too.......;)

For minor scratches
Borax toothpaste, soft cloth, rub from the center straight out to the edge -
You can also use Pledge - :-)

In the states we have a item called the GAME DR. I own on and it works grand! Sometimes you have to do the same disk a couple tims or so for a bad scratch. Oh yea spend the extra cash and buy the electric one after a few rounds of the manual one you will thank me.

I've never done it but, I've read that Pledge, sprayed on a cloth and then rubbed on a disc, from the center straight out toward the edge - can help -
Me, I'd rather stick with the toothpaste with added Borax
:P

Hi Alangrw, I just noticed your post. I use a software called DVD Cover Print for printing my dvd covers. Its quick and easy to use. However, you can not edit the cover using this software. You have to open Photoshop or Microsoft Photo Editor etc to alter the picture and then open the edited cover in DVD Cover Print to print it out. There is a free 30 day trail and its 10 bucks after the 30 day trial is over. Here is the site where you download the software http://www.hotlib.com

I recall a member mentioning that he sets up Decrypter to ignore read errors by checking that box in the I/O settings tab on Decrypters's settings window. I began using that configuration after Decrypter hiccupped the first time it tried to rip a "scratchy" disk. It's been smooth sailing ever since.
I'm now 4 for 4 on burning DVD+Rs with no coasters, though still very much a newbie.

If you want quality DVD Covert art.. I'd suggest http://www.dvdcoverart.com
You have to buy them, but they are quite reasonably priced for what you get.You also have the option to contribute some scans which allows an individual to build up credits which in turn can be used to purchase covers. You don't need to resize anything, they are sized perfectly.. they are indeed the very best quality I've seen to date and the selection is amazing.
As for printing... basically any DVD printing software will accomodate them.

To help clean DVD's -
Place the disc on a hard, padded surface, use rubbing alcohol and a soft cotton cloth and rub from the center, straight to the outside using a firm, strong stroke -
To try to recover a minor scratched DVD/CD try using a toothpaste with Borax and rub with the same directions as above -

Hi guys, Here's some stuff we use at work. Works great on plastic control panels as on dvd players and vcrs. I haven't tried it on a cd or dvd but they claim it works.
