problem with starview

hi, i am new to this forum, hope u welcome me lol, i have a starview box and currently most of the channels are not working apart from from the 5 or 6 channels which are mainly the bbc related channels, i tried the auto scan as well and also inputted some new codes but it is still not working, all i get is a grey channel without anything on it, it says data is updating but nothing happens, can u please give me a solution to this problem it will be much appreciated

You need to state what model Starview you have 1/2 The Box etc. and also when did you last update your firmware?

the model number which i got on the starview box is sp6030613, just recently i updated the box and after that its not working at all

What malci means is, which starview b0x have you got?
Press menu > system information & tell us what it says please.

maybe you can help me, i have the the box super star view 3
when i autoscan I USED to pick up sky sports123 and other channels but they would be scrambled, ive been trying to sort it, but must of done something wrong as they dont appear at all now when I autoscan. I still get all the unscrambled channels i did before, but really wanna get sky sports123 and some more sky movie channels i dont get.
any ideas??

You need to do a Factory Re-set, and Installation, choose your provider and then do an Automatic Scan, when finished exit to Main Menu, enter 1570 and turn Key Emu to ON, then exit out to an encrypted channel and let it update. There is absolutely no reason that you cannot get them - if done properly, so take your time and please try to avoid multi-posting.

sorry for the multi post, ive tried what you said, but im not getting the encrypted channels listed anymore when I scan, they used to be there, but they were encrypted, now there not there at all.

When you say that you are not getting the encrypted channels, do you mean that you are not getting any at all? If so - then you need to check that you definately have a live cable feed.

no, ive had this box for about 3 months, i get most channels, setanta1/2/golf alot of movies and alot of standard channels, also had alot which were scrambled, yesterday i was trying to un-scramble them channels which include sky sports1/2/3 but not really knowing what i was doing. when I did an autoscan, all the channels which were scrambled, no longer appeared on the channel menu.
so i want to know
1) why do the scrambled channels which were once on the menu no longer appear?
2)if i can get them back, how to un-scramble them?

1) As I have said above, you must do Factory Re-Set (before any scan) and a completely fresh Installation, making sure that you choose your correct provider!!
2) When you get them back you go to Menu, type 1570 into Cas System Menu and turn Key Emu to ON!!
Like so:-
* Menu and go down to Factory Settings OK,
* 0000 and OK to confirm,
* Accept English OK and Installation OK
* Select correct provider i.e. NTL, C/W or TW
* Then choose automatic scan OK
* Once the channels are found, exit back to the Main menu
* Then enter 1570,
* Go down to the bottom option and turn EMU to ON.
* Now exit 3 times and go to S*y Sports and let it update.
That is the only way that you will get them back and unscramble - The SV3 puts the listing in CC order, so check your channel listing carefully after doing the above.

If you are having to do that then you box needs updating with the latest firmware. What does it say at the front top left hand corner of the box, does it say Starview - The Box or The Box Super, which one is it.

Then it is the Starview 1, you need to flash it with the auto-roll firmware, and you are better advised to put on the following file CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin found in the Firmware Folder as that is safe for a genuine and a clone, you will also need the Loader GTRom_v4.00.exe found in the Software Folder, you will find them in Eamo's FTA Library in Starview 1 Folder - at the bottom of post, download them to your desktop and then follow the guide in the Starview link also at the bottom okay.

First click on the link to Library at the bpttom. then click the Folder Starview 1, then click on Softare Folder - then click the little green arrow on the far of right of the 2nd file down (GTRom Loader) and save it to your desktop, now close and go back and repeat the process this time in the Firmware Folder again the 2nd file down, take your time it is a simple task, but I understand what it means to you if you have not done it before, I have to get off right now, so as said just take your time okay.

Are you for real shamlondo!!! the link to the Library is in the 2nd line at the bottom, "It's NOT on the Box It's Not on the remote" please read what I have posted, I am trying to help you, better still give me a couple of minutes.

i do all that, but the channels which USED to be the channel menu but were scambled, do not appear anymore, which is strange because at the end of the autoscan it says 366 channels found which is the ammount it used toi say too. is there a setting to only show available channels or something????

i tried to download some of the stuff, but i couldnt coz its kind of searching through windows live search etc: is there any otherway i can upload the firmware to the starview without downloading it on the pc

hi all mi parents sv3 went down, it has the firmware update as i did it. i have factory reset and scanned, it finds all chans but wont show any but 1 through 5.
i have a euro box at home and thats fine when i manually enter the keys but the sv3 box still says data is being updated even when i manually enter the correct keys.
ne ideas guys.
i mean why would it even want to update if i entered the correct keys correctly manually?
