Amigo 28, did you resolve this, if so how? I get
"Access violation at address 0050343f in module 'starviewchanneleditor.exe'. Read of address 0070F37C" on converted files and
"Access violation at address 00404B44 in module 'starviewchanneleditor.exe'. Read of address 7465536CC" on unconverted files!!
Thanking you in anticipation

Sounds like you don't have a printer rinstalled. Even if you don't have a printer, install any printer driver (even just a pdf creator should do) & make sure it's set to the default printer.

What version of editor are you using, and have you definitely set the printer to your default Windows one? That's the usual reason for that message.
What channel data files are you trying to open? Starview1, Starview2 (TheBox) etc?
When you say 'converted' are you using TheBoxConverter, and if so which version?

I have just used the channel converter and got my old channels back. Yipee auto update and all my favorites.
I started theboxconverter in eamos library browsed to my old channel file and it converted to the new format.
Uploaded with the new loader as a channel file and hey presto.
Obviously after 4.51e the channel data format changed and the converter allows you to update between the two formats. Thanks to everyone for all the good work on here.

The printer is set as the default in windows.
I am using the 'data_converter(thebox)'
the files are Starview 2 The Box
On properties is the following info'
visualised 5518
file version 1.0.0.1
I got the software from the eamos file link provided by scOuser.
Do you know what I am doing wrong, I have switched between the 2 printers I have installed with no success?
Thanks in anticipation

I agree the link in Eamos's library appears to be broken. The rapidshare link that kevsb posted above does have the correct converter.
In kevsb's link there's a file called Info.rtf. Can anyone who's having problems with the editor on TheBox (Starview2) please make sure they follow the instructions in that document?
So far I've not found a Windows PC that can't run the editor nor the converter successfully. They have been on Windows 98, 2000, XP & Vista. Any issues I'm aware of have been either operator error (!) or caused by there being no default printer setup.
The editor should be V1044 and the convert V1010.
If you're allowed, post a link here where a zipped channel data file can be downloaded & I'll take a look myself.
