My xbox just started flashing the 2 red lights, not 3.Can this be fix and what do I need to do about it.Should I go ahead and order the x-clamp fix is the 3 RROD coming soon.

If im not mistaken the two read rings are an overheating issue.The odd thing about it was I had just turned it on from the night before and it played about 10 minutes and quit.It worked fine when I stopped playing it the night before.

What causes it to start overheating so much all of a sudden when it was fine

You could try pulling up the heatsinks on the back and putting them back down,not sure what type of paste for you to use.You will have to search for that.1st you need to pull the chips up and clean them good and the board.Then spread the paste evenly across the chips and put them back down.Do not put to much you dont want the paste all over the board.Ive have read that other people tried this and it worked for them.Hope it works out for you

The problem is 2 RROD-code 0013-RAM overheating.Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this.

Attempt this at your own risk! You need to strip the console down to the m/board. Take care when removing the X Clips not to damage tracks on the m/board! Clean the gunk off the processors and heat sinks. Take a heat gun and warm up all the processors and Ram chips. Don?t go overboard or the m/board will buckle and the chips could slip out of position (then you?re screwed!). Allow to cool for 30 minutes. Apply thermal grease - not too much! Bend the X Clips slightly so they will have a tight fit. Re assemble and test. Make sure that the tiny black screws which fasten the heat sinks to the chassis are nice and tight! This method works great for RROD, freezing and graphics issues! Good Luck!

Thanks doc you definetly roc.I just want to ask you one thing ,you are saying I dont need a xclamp kit,just clean everything off and paste.Then put it back together.Again thanks alot for helping.also do you have to take the chips off the motherboard and clean up under them to are just clean off the top of the chips and bottom of the heatsinks

I did what you said roc but now my 2 fans in the back are not working and it is definetly overheating now.I have a small fan that is blowing down on the opened unit and as long as its blowing it does not overheat.Can you just replace the fan with a new one.What exactly is overheating the cpu/gpu chips are the ram chips.

Hey, double check that when you plugged the fan connection into the M/Board socket that it clipped in securely. Let me know.

I did everything you said Roc and did the xclamp fix and I think the xbox is fix.I can close the unit now and let the unit run for a long time even without the fan,but I must have shorted something out on the motherboard.The fan does not work and I even had an old computer fan that I tried on it and it did not work.So it is not the fan.I guess I could just bye an aftermarket fan that plugs in the power outlet of the xbox.

Hey again, I will check a M/Board for you to see what the problem might be. Might just be a fuse or something small. Just keep the console nice and cool, you don?t want the board to buckle and get the RRoD again!
