Hitachi 59DJ - in deparate need of help

Trying to get the Hitachi 59DJ recognized in windows, can somebody perhaps tell me what I am doing wrong.

I use the 2-wire trick to get (what seems to be) the drive in B-Mode, the green LED flashes as soon a wires touched.

Power on the PC, Vista will not see the drive. The 59 is the only SATA device connected. Windows will not detech drive as drive letter or even as device in device manager.
Other observations:
1. The 59 does get detected in the BIOS config
2. When in Mode (flashing LED), it only takes one press of the eject button to eject the tray - THE flashing LED goes solid after ejecting tray. I heard in another thread, the THREE button presses are required.

The SATA chipset is NVidia 590 integrated in the mobo.
Any ideas? Many thanks in advance...

that would be two button presses, and just refresh my memory is that drive the one that you have to do the two wire trick? if not why dont you use the other method of a slax disc?

try safe mode and make sure you have the sata cord into port 1
