Need help with Metal Gear Solid PSX

I have the psx version of metal gear solid but when i start the game the screen just turns black and does not load up?My psp version is 3.71 m33-2. I am not sure what popsloader i am using(kinda noob). Please help

first of all, you must have all pops
(maybe from 3.00 to 3.71)
if you don't have, please search popsloader on the forums.
Run the game, while holding R.
Then list of pops will appear. just choose from highest to lowest until the game runs the right way.

Well i put another one.i activated the plugins but nothing happens when i hold R trigger and press the game.It still stays in a black screen

It's like a mini-guide to running psx games on a psp.
I'll have an actual FULL guide written eventually, but I've got a couple other WIP's already that need finishing first.
That post should explain damn near everything you need to know about PSX games on PSP including POPS.
Also, just a piece of advice, I'd upgrade to 5.00 M33-3 if I were you.

Absolutely. I'm pretty sure there's a link on there for that 5.00 M33-3 updater in there. If the psp has CFW on it, no matter what version, it should be able to run that file straight up to 5.00 M33-3.

Ok i updated it but when i the pops loader comes out and i press a prx the thing jamms and restarts what can i do?

I don't think I'm quite following you.
You press a prx?
When you start up a psx game for the first time you should get a POPS menu. From there on out if you need to access the POPS menu, hold R while you're starting up the game.
Next consult the psx to psp compatibility website i have linked in that post.
Choose the suggest POPS for the game you're playing (if there is one). If there's not you'll need to do some trial and error.
Make sure you post your findings to help others out...just as others have helped you, me, and everyone else.

Well i still can't play MGS the game hangs in disc 1 but works in disc 2

I'll bet anything your eboot is jacked up.
I know for a fact metal gear solid works b/c I was just playing it last week (almost to the 2nd sniper wolf fight).
Rip your cd's again and use the PSX to PSP converter I suggested in my post above.
If you downloaded the game you probably got a bad copy of it. Download an actual copy of the game (the 2 .iso files) and make the eboot.pbp yourself. Less chance of it getting screwed up. Follow the instructions in my post for the exacts.
