Micisoft unbans (kinda) my console.

This was pure luck i guess. My elite console that i did a lite-on swap in (changed with a Benq) was banned about 3 weeks ago. After this happened itried a trick that I thought might work. i put the old lite-on drive back in the console and then got the rrod on it. I then called M$ and bitched and complained about my box being need to be sent in again and asked for a replacement console. the tech guy said he'd do what he could and i sent it in. i just got the new console back and put in a retail copy of COD4 and went on live without a prob. So now i'm going to reflash the old drive. this is of course very risky but i guess if you complain enough (or mess your box up enough) you could get a new unbanned replacement for free.

Thats incredably dishonest, ms will repair that console and send it out. so someone out there is waiting weeks to get a replacement 360 when it arives it will be banned ofcourse microsoft will then back track and i believe prosecute, but in the mean time that person will have to wait further

basicly you knew when you modified that you would bebanned as do we all but that ranks up there with re-attaching the warreenty sticker and other fraud

how can ms prove that he forced the console to get rrod? and shouldnt ms have cross referenced the console to the banned database and make sure it isnt still banned when they send it back out? im sure ms does quality control testing when they repair consoles and im sure part of that quality control testing would include making sure it can connect to live. when they test it and see it is banned they will probably unban and ship out. besides the consoles are banned based on ID that is on the board that will probably be replaced anyway so it wont matter.
dont worry man u pulled one over on ms and they are huge so they wont lose any sleep.

ive done the same thing only that u dont need the rrod. just say u have it they never check that shit and plz dont say this is illegal or fraud cuz this whole forum is dedicated to it.

Ha, I tried the same thing about a week ago and it didn't work. They now have started putting notes on your account to alert the Microsoft reps that you speak to that the console is banned. So I pretty much was forced to buy another one from Gamestop.

modifying your 360 for your use is different to sending a banned xbox 360 with a replaced warrentie sticker back to microsoft

one breaks the terms and conditions of xbox live

the other is fraud

This happens all the time! M$ will not do anything about it. People have had many 360s sent in to them without warrenty stickers on them and M$ just sent them brand new consoles. I was told that RRod are not ever sent back out they are just sold to people that work for the company or independent sellers.
