Hey all, I have done quite a few of these since last year, and they have seemed to last quite well. Attempt this at your own risk! You need to strip the console down to the m/board. Take care when removing the X Clips not to damage tracks on the m/board! Clean the gunk off the processors and heat sinks. Take a heat gun and warm up all the processors and Ram chips. Don?t go overboard or the m/board will buckle and the chips could slip out of position (then you?re screwed!). Allow to cool for 30 minutes. Apply thermal grease - not too much! Bend the X Clips slightly so they will have a tight fit. Re assemble and test. Make sure that the tiny black screws which fasten the heat sinks to the chassis are nice and tight! This method works great for RROD, freezing and graphics issues! Good Luck!

LOL aka x-clamp fix, which if you do a search you get a 40 page tutorial with pictures. nice try, but if you want credit you need to do alot more than write a paragraph.

Whatever man, I didn?t ask for or expect any credit! You must realize that a lot of newbie?s don't know how to find or even search for these things, and this was just a quick guide to help them out. So get off your high horse, stop criticizing and contribute so more people can become knowledgeable!

I believe offense was taken due to your title. If your intentions were so selfless, I suggest the next time you post a thread about something you did not come up with on your own, you leave the i invented it part out of the title.

ok so you take the xbox apart and theres these tabby things then a screw and anyways u plug it in your computer and put this thing called iprep in and flash with ixtreme
how does that sound compared to the rest

Here's the funny thing, I never typed the ?i invented it? part? The original heading was DIY RRoD repair tutorial. Please look into this; I would never assume credit for something that I never came up with.
