Has anyone else seen this? I can still play my divx movies through standard streaming from my vista ultimate machine, but if I go into Media Center and try to play my ripped AVIDIVX movies, I'm basically told that there's a problem with the movie or the codec ... this wasn't happening before NXE so I'd have to assume its only from NXE. I even went to the extreme of clearing out my Vista machine and doing a fresh install, including the DIVXcodec. I noticed that if I put xVid on the desktop that is streaming to the xbox, then when I went to the normal (non MCE) My Videos and streamed that way, I'd get a different error and the movie wouldn't play at all. As soon as I uninstalled xvid, no problems ...
Umm .. then why was I streamingDivx rips of my own DVD's pre NXE? It certainly supported it before through media center ... Anyone else notice this after installing NXE while streaming from MCE through the xbox?
I noticed the same thing pre NXE I could stream divx format from my home PC. After the NXE upgrade I was not able to. It sucks because I used my home media center to sort of revolve around that capability. I even have a raid setup for it. The only thing that I can figure is that they will add the functionality with the next update. Until then all I can tell you is to transcode your media I believe there is a program called tversity that will transcode for you so you can use your media, but it will hog your system resources while streaming.
They also still work with normal media sharing to the xbox, which is great, but I was really enjoying using windows media center through the xbox! It seems to work in any other way, just not through Media Center ...
