THE NEWS COMING FROM NTHELL DUBLIN IS THAT OVER CHRISTMAS SOMETIME THEY ARE GOING TO START BROADCASTING ON A DIFFERENT BANDWIDTH WHICH WILL RENDER ALL CURRENT BOXES USELESS. IT was ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE MR BRANSON FOUND A SOLUTION.

Please don't post all in caps as people consider it to be shouting and they don't like it.

Branson has nothing to do with what happens in Ireland.

I see NTHELL in Dublin have a new station call UPC TV that is scrambled therefore I suspect it may be true. The new station could be a trial on the new frequency.

Sorry about the caps. Branson is the major shareholder in upc, so one can only assume that he does have some say. However this info comes directly from a senior technician who has been working on the problem for the last year. I had to sound disinterested as he would not take kindly to me having one of the boxes, but he told me that their solution will render all current boxes useless. As an afterthought he did add that it is only a matter of time before something else comes along. I do hope that this wont happen but a year of sat TV for the price of a box is still good value.
