Well, I am also planning on updating the NXE from my 360, but I do not have a Live account yet. Also, can it be updated with a Silver account? I do not have money to buy a gold membership by now...
Search thru the other NXE threads, i posted a link to an NXE download somewhere, you can install it via USB stick. My xbox is unmodded but you could read thru the threads to see if having a modded box makes a difference re installing NXE.
