My pc can't boot from a flash drive, i have a spare drive that I can install the files onto and boot from there. Is this possible and where would I find a tutorial for this.
Thanks in advance
Yes it should be possible, and you its the same method. Just prepare the flash drive using iprep, and copy everything over to the hard drive exactly. Then boot from that drive. However you may have some issue's if since you are supposed to flash w/no drives plugged in (so the software knows what drive it is flashing). Also make sure you are selecting the correct raid controller, and it would probably be best if your drive is sata to not put it in the master slot (slot 0), and put your 360 drive in that one.
My PC wouldn't boot from a usb flash drive either. You can however use a floppy disk drive to flash. I didn't have a floppy drive in my pc so I had to go and get a usb floppy drive which works perfectly, figure that out.
There's a section in the 2008 textbook that explains how to flash Sammys and BenQ's with a floppy drive.
One thing to be mindful of with the floppy method.
Be patient. The floppy drive is slow. Once it reads your original firmware and starts to create your hacked firmware to flash you might see a message that says "please reboot pc" DON'T. Wait for your floppy drive to quit running and then you should see a second message saying it's safe to shut down your pc.
