OK. so i went to my local bestbuy to buy a 360. opened it up and its a benq drive. problem is, every pc in my house has an intel chipset so I cant flash it myself. there is a local guy im gonna bring it to tomorrow.....charges 35 buck. just wanted to rant...benq is still on the shelves.

My sympathies.. but why not buy a via card cheap and then you could be the guy charging 35 a pop to flash them :)

yah i just bought it (Nov 08). I went to the local best buy and bought the premium kit (399) and thought for sure id get a liteon. opened it up and its benq. I about broke the chassis trying to get it apart though.

I would second the vote for buying a via sata card. I just bought one off ebay, it was really cheap and works flawlessly.

These major companies such as BESTBUY CIRCUIT CITY book these 360s years in advance based on consumer rates. The 360 was selling extreamly fast around this time last year so they ordered many more for this year. This is what caused Circuit City to fill bancurptcy. That explains why u have a Ben q drive they had overstock from last season.
